Estates Administrator
A vacancy has arisen for the position of Estates Administrator at Argyll Estates.
The Estates Administrator will provide competent and professional administrative and technical support to assist with the smooth day-to-day running of Argyll estates.
The position is full-time, permanent. The role is primarily office based in Inveraray, with a requirement to work elsewhere to visit and inspect properties and other business assets from time to time. Below is a snapshot of some of the duties associated with this role:
- Responding to general enquiries.
- Preparing correspondence, schedules, minutes and agendas.
- Mail management.
- Paper and electronic filing.
- Diary management and arranging meetings.
- Managing holiday let bookings.
- Liaising with cleaners/housekeepers.
- Conducting vacant property checks.
- Preparing schedules of condition.
- Managing energy accounts and contracts.
- Renewing property licences.
- Collating deer cull and fish catch return figures.
The successful candidate must have good communication skills, strong organisation skills and a flexible, ‘can do’ attitude. Experience of working in a similar role is advantageous.

Tradesperson
A vacancy has arisen for the position of Tradesperson at Argyll Estates.
The Tradesperson will assist in the care and construction of estate properties, applying a wide range of skills to complement their core trade skill. The successful candidate will be able to deal with both internal and external repairs on a portfolio of properties across the estate. They will preferably have a time-served trade qualification, but we are open to the right person. Training will be provided.
The position is full-time, permanent. The role is based in and around Inveraray, with occasional work on the Isle of Tiree.
The role will focus on general property maintenance and repair services, including emergency repairs. Work may include, but is not limited to:
- Roofing
- Gutters and downpipes
- Painting and decoration
- Water supplies, plumbing, drains and wastewater
- Flooring
- Masonry
- Joinery
- Portable appliance testing
- Property inspections and reports
- Preventative maintenance
The successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated and have a flexible, ‘can do’ attitude. They must be capable of preparing and following risk assessments, have knowledge of traditional construction methods and materials, and be able and willing to maintain their knowledge of the appropriate standards and practices required.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
