Argyll Estates proudly plays host to the annual Inveraray Highland Games on our Winterton Park, within the grounds of Inveraray Castle. The highland games offers a great day out for all the family with track and field events, piping, highland dancing competitions and even the caber tossing world championships. You won’t go hungry either, with a selection of local food and drink stands sure to appeal to all.
The 2025 highland games will take place on Tuesday 22nd July. Full details can be found at inveraray-games.co.uk/. Please note, Argyll Estates do not organise the highland games and as such all related enquiries should be directed to the Games Committee via their website.

Filming
Argyll Estates is proud to have featured in a variety of dramas and documentaries to date, from Inveraray Castle featuring as Duneagle Castle in Downton Abbey, to the 11th Duke of Arygll’s story being portrayed in the A Very British Scandal mini-series. Our varied landscape and unique historical features provide the ideal setting for a range of filming opportunities.
We have most recently featured in a Countryfile special in which Dame Judi Dench shared her love for the Scottish countryside and recounted fond memories of holidaying in Argyll in her childhood.
Stay tuned for further releases featuring the Estate coming in the near future.
